Anatomy

Body & Shell

Croshelus are small hard shelled hairless creatures that dwells around beaches. No bigger than an average bunny or cat, they are capable of breathing both in and outside water. They are also well acclimated to both fresh and salt water (tho each individuals might have personal preferences)

While they have no hair, Croshelus do grow fin-like or tendril-like bits on their head that can mimic hair.

Croshelus are born with initially soft shell that hardens later. These shell can vary wildly in shapes and sizes. However it’s important to not that some may be born without one or get theirs too damaged and might opt to use anything hollow to replace it such as cans, bottles, fruit casings and even rocks!

They are omnivorous scavengers and eat whatever their pincers can break apart including: fishes, fruits, nuts, shellfish, meat, vegetables, grains and even bones at times.

pincers

Pincers are a Croshelus’s best tool. They are strong enough to break small bones and hard shell. They rarely employ them to fight or hunt however, they see better use in dances.

These pinchy boys comes in many shapes but all follow the overall egg-like chunky base.

(the example below are not the full extent or it. You can come up with your own variant or combine some of the examples!)

ears

Croshelus ear are more for show than for actually listening. Their on-land hearring is kinda bad and completely useless underwater. When submerged they rely much more on water vibrations and body language to communicate.

As an aesthetic statement these appendages comes in as much variations as their pincers if not more. They may mimic any other species ears or antennas all-be-it without the fur or hard keratin, instead they are made of just squishy flesh and cartilage.
