It is without surprise that Lemres refused the Nordics offer, but I didn’t expect his response to be of the magnitude it was. He was very distressed after the call. He made it sound like he was mad about the idea of exchanging of physical favors and potentially getting taken advantage of, but I can tell he was disturbed more by the fact it was Nordics asking and that he had to talk to them.

I want to make it it clear that I do not believe Lemres to have a prejudice toward Nordics as a whole in a racist manner. I’ve heard him talk about Nordics positively before, he’s read multiple books written by these people with no issues. He does not seem to hate them at all. However, today was probably the first time he came face to face with a Nordic for a long time or ever. Speaking to one directly for the first time since his parent’s passing was probably overwhelming and traumatic. It sounds obvious now but I didn’t realize it then.

In hind sight I should have probably navigated the situation very differently. Like I said, I’ve heard him speak positively about Nordics in the past, both before and after he confided in me the cause of his parent’s death. I though there would be no negative reaction coming from him. I should have know better than to put him in a direct video call with someone mirroring the source of his deepest hurt.
