I decided to celebrate Solar Tide with Lemres this morning. Solar Tide is a holiday partially rooted in both human’s Christmas and Phobosian New Year. The date doesn’t always perfectly lands on the 25th and they celebrate it only once every two human years since this 1 cycle or year on Phobos is 2 Earth years.

Phobosian spend the morning of Solar Tide giving gifts to their friend and family like you would at Christmas. There’s no “presents under the tree”, they don’t even wrap gifts most of the time. In the morning they simply hand out the presents they had prepared and wish each other a prosperous cycle.

In truth, I wasn’t prepared to celebrate with him until the morning of so my gift wasn’t the most thoughtful, he did seem pleasantly surprised and very happy to receive it never the less. I gave him a plush doll of “Mothman” and in return he gifted me a drawing he did of me in my human disguise. I knew he was skilled in the art department from reading his logs that were peppered with his own illustrations of folk creatures but I did not expect him to depict me.
